Aboyne Academy is a full six-year comprehensive school that provides secondary school education for the communities of mid and upper Deeside.
The school offers a broad range of subjects and courses for pupils of all abilities. The school prides itself on having a welcoming and friendly atmosphere which blends with our inclusive and supportive ethos to create a strong community spirit.

New entrants to P1 are enrolled early in the calendar year for entry to school in August.
This term is as usual very busy: The school will have a visit from HM Inspector.
P7 pupils will visit Aboyne Academy Pupil reports will go home to parents and parent interviews will be held.
The main building contains a library, a swimming pool, a theatre, a games hall and an all weather pitch in addition to the classrooms.
Miss Rogers was appointed to take over after the mid term break in February and is dividing her time between Tarland and Logie Coldstone.

The school is located on the Western side of the village and serves many other villages in the surrounding area, including: Braemar, Ballater, Kincardine O'Neil and Tarland.
In 2011, and English teacher retired who had coordinated some local fundraising activities at the school, raising almost £100,000 for Children in Need over a 23 years period.
In 2013 many pupils took part in a sponsored walk from Burn o’ Vat to Aboyne as part of their yearly heath week.
Pupils and teachers will be busy rehearsing the school summer production.
